Goodbye Blue Monday - Misery Punk Ruined My Life EP Review

Goodbye Blue Monday - Misery Punk Ruined My Life

EP Review

Goodbye Blue Monday are a Melodic Pop-Punk band from Glasgow, Scotland. Consisting of Graham Lough on Vocals & Guitar, Jack Cunningham on Guitar & Vocals, Sean Arnold on Bass & Vocals and Alberto Morillas Bravo on Drums. This band were formed in 2013 so are a reasonably experienced band and this is their second EP.

Track one of this three-track EP is the title song, "Misery Punk Ruined My Life". This is a very fast bouncy song mixed with old-school shouting punk vocals, which actually works really well! This first song gets your blood pumping and ready for the second song, which is called "Worst In The Mornings". This song is a proper sing-along song, with great use of tempo changes, instrumental sections and interesting lyrics. It reminds me of the punk-rock of the late 1990's/early 2000's.
The third and final song is "Love Is A Noose For Two" which starts with a great instrumental rhythm to get you dancing, then the vocals join and make this quite the anthem tune. The technical guitar fingering, fast drumming and the mix of synth music make this a really awesome song!

In conclusion, this band really know how to make and play some awesome Punk-Rock! I love the speed and ferociousness of the songs which builds up in energy quickly, making your body start moving before your brain even realises.
I urge you to check out this band and if you can get to a show, DO IT!

This EP "Misery Punk Ruined My Life" was released on 29th June 2018 on all digital outlets.
